4-H Club

Elementary's 4-H Club is a service club for four and fifth grade students
who want to improve their heads, hearts, hands and health.
Members "learn by doing" by making things, taking part in club meetings,
learning to follow, learning to lead, and helping neighbors and
neighborhoods through club activities. The club leader is Mrs.
Harris. 2005-2006 elected
officers are: ****The officers need to attend Project Training Day on October 20th at Walker Elementary at 4:00 p.m. Please make sure you do not arrive before 3:45. Please meet in the commons area and wait for instructions before going to the classrooms. The second Project Training Day will be November 17th (time and location to be announced)*** NATIONAL 4-H WEEK: October 1st - Our 4-H club will be spreading the word about 4-H to the students by making posters to display in our hallways and treating our teachers to a little chocolate bar! JR. LEADER CLUB MEETING: Monday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Livingston Courthouse. Officers will need to attend. TENTATIVE MONTHLY MEETINGS: October 19,

Beta Club

| Northside
Elementary's Junior Beta Club is a service and honor organization for fifth grade
students who maintain grades of all A's and B's. They live up to
their motto, "Let Us Lead By Serving Others". Some of the club's
projects include selling concessions at recess, making wreaths for a local
nursing home for Christmas, and sponsoring the Blue Jeans for Babies
campaign to raise money for the March of Dimes. Mrs. Cheryl
Hano
and Mrs. Lilly Sharafkhani sponsor the club and its activities. Beta
Club also collects various labels from Tyson products, Community Coffee
and General Mills foods, and these companies will donate money to
Northside Elementary based on the number of labels collected .

Mileage Club
The Mileage Club is organized by Mrs. Edna
Bassett and will begin on September 10th.
On Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays during recess, students who participate will walk
around the track
(which is a 1/4 of a mile). For every 5 miles a student walks, he/she will
earn a "toe" token
to wear. A map in the front hall charts students and school progress.
